A whole new perspective

I was at the Chick-fil-a drive thru this morning and when I pulled to the window to pay, I was told that the lady in front of me had paid for me and I was handed a “Just Because” card.  Of course she had already driven away, so I could not thank her.  My morning was off to a chaotic and rough start, but her nice gesture put things in a whole new perspective for me.  She definitely made my day.  I have the card hanging on the bulletin board in my office to remind me of what is really important in life.

Kindness at Taco Bell

On Monday night, after one of the Mardi Gras parades, myself, my 5 year old (who attends Fusion Kids and LOVES IT) and two friends went to Taco Bell in Daphne. My friend and I are both single mom’s of 5 year old sons and had taken them to the carnival downtown before the parade which is very expensive as well as snacks from vendors. After a long day, headed home, stopped at Taco Bell and placed over an $11 order in the drive thru.  I saw a P.T. Cruiser with LOTS of stickers on the back (I drive one also).  Whomever it was in front of my car passed an employee beads through the window. As they drove off and I pulled to the window the employee told me the car in front of mine had paid for our meal! She handed me a card that said “Just Because.” We were all VERY touched and grateful! Almost unexplainable! So I want to thank whomever was so kind!

It’s an everyday thing

I had a thought regarding blessing others “just because”, and some of you may already be one step ahead of me – ha!  But this morning, as I was praying, it dawned on me to ask God to show me someone EVERY DAY that I could bless for His sake.  So today I ran errands, did the homeschooling, etc, and after running to Sam’s, I felt the nudge of the Lord to go get gas at a particular gas station. I knew it was because He had someone there he wanted to bless.  So I pulled into that gas station and I was the only one there!  But 2 seconds later 4 cars pulled up.  I waited for the Lord to show me which one, and then I went inside to buy her gas.  I got to talk to her by her car and give her a hug, which made it extra special for me!  I don’t know her need, but our loving Father does and He blessed her today – and I am blessed, too. Let’s all continue to ask the Lord everyday to show us who needs His love – just because!

Not left behind

My son came home with a field trip permission slip. It was quite pricey for them to take the trip to Montgomery. I filled out the check and form and sent him to school. All I could think about was how difficult that would have been for my mother who raised me and my two brothers all by herself. I sent a note to school the next day asking the teacher to call me. I asked her if there were any children in the class that could not afford to go on the trip and and she said there were was one little boy who couldn’t. I offered to pay his way and asked to remain anonymous and that his parents receive the Just Because card. No child should be left behind while the rest of the children experience the field trip fun. God has certainly blessed us and it feels amazing to share those blessings with other people.

Unexpected blessings

My son attends a local preschool and recently had “antique” photos done by a photography studio that came over from Mobile.  He dressed in “greaser” style clothing and posed on a motorcycle and a a toy hot rod.  I knew we would not be able to afford purchasing any pictures right now but I had them done anyway so I could show them online to our familes, who live 1,000 miles away. God used the parking guy twice on Sunday

This past Sunday my wife and I stopped by Bruno’s to pick up a plate from the Deli. When checking out the man behind me told the cashier he would be right back because he had forgotten his wallet. He only had less than 5 dollars worth of groceries. I told the cashier to let me pay for his and she was afraid she would get in trouble. I told her WHY I was doing it and she let me go ahead. When we started out the man came in wearing a Bay Community Parking crew shirt on. I had not noticed it earlier so he and I had a quick laugh about it. God was at work in two ways. He used us both to witness to the cashier, and I always feel the need to thank our parking guys each time I go in and out of the church. SO THANK YOU GUYS WE LOVE YOU ALL.

Moving

I want to say thank you to all who helped me move! It was going to cost me over $600.00 to have a moving company do it and there was no way I could come up with that kind of money to move! I was so happy when I got the news that I would be helped. I even cried! Men showed up by the dozen and kept telling me to stop helping move anything. They even hung my tv for me! They had all my stuff moved in less than an hour and a half. Then we prayed blessings over my apartment and family with me. I cannot even begin to tell you what a wonderful blessing these men were to the boys and I or say thank you enough! Please pass this on to them because I want them all to know how extremely grateful and blessed I am!

God’s timing is always perfect

I had been thinking about how God was going to use me with the “Just Because” Outreach, and next thing I knew I received an email with an opportunity to help one of our Seniors Citizens from the church. She needed some help cleaning her house and getting ready for knee surgery so I went to her house and I spent the whole day with her. We laughed together and cried together, shared several testimonies with each other and despite things she has faced in her life she always has a smile on her face and is thanking Jesus. What an awesome lady of God she is, and what a blessing she has become in my life in such a short time. (And by the way I was somehow able to still get her house cleaned that day) GOD is GOOD!!! She also expressed how she could use some help around the house moving things and doing some things in the yard and doesn’t have any money, I told her it isn’t about money it’s about loving one another and ministering to each other. So my husband and I will be visiting her at least once a month. I am so blessed to have her in my life and all her Godly wisdom, God’s timing is always perfect.

The opportunity is always there

I was in the grocery store today with my two year old grandson getting ready to check out, because my grandson was beyond tired and was fussing. As I was getting ready to unload my groceries something told me to look behind me and see if the person behind me had  less groceries than my overflowing cart, because I would have course let them go ahead. Sure enough there was an elderly couple behind me with like ten items in their basket. I told them to please go ahead. Very sweet couple, they were Oriental and did not speak English well, but they understood what I was saying and proceeded to get in front of me. I told the cashier to please add their groceries to mine and I would pay for it all. Read more »

For real?

I stopped by my local Brunos one evening on the way home from work to buy coffee.  As I waited in line I noticed the cashier had a look of discontent on his face (probably was wishing he was somewhere else, as we are all guilty of from time to time).  The gentleman behind me was standing with his head down staring at a credit card in his hand.  As I paid for my coffee, I heard God’s voice (spirit to spirit, of course) say “pay for his groceries”. So before the Cashier hit the total button I told him to add the gentleman’s groceries behind me to my order and I would pay for all of it.  The cashier stepped backward and said loudly “For REAL?” I replied yes as I handed the man behind me the Just Because card.
