59th Anniversary Dinner

As a manager at a local restaurant in Spanish Fort, I knew in my heart it would be there at my place of work that the Lord would send someone to me to bless with the gift received by Pastor last Sunday.
It was storming outside and a Lady walked in to place a carry out order. It consisted of two seafood platters and two ice-teas, one sweet and one unsweet and requested they be marked as such. She told me the dinners were for her parents who were celebrating their 59th wedding anniversary, and her mother was waiting for her in the car to go meet her father. Her father is a resident of Mercy Medical and her mother, whom she cares for, has cancer. She told me she asked the nurses what her father could have to eat since he is on a strict diet, and they told her he could have whatever he wants. My eyes began to fill up with tears as I was getting her order together, thinking of my own parents who have been married for 58 years. She handed me forty dollars for her order and without a thought, I gave it right back and told her I wanted to pay for their dinners. She insisted that I did not have to do that, and I told her I wanted to do this for them. I asked her if she had seen on television about the local church giving away $50,000 to their members. She told me she had seen the story and I told her I attended that church and had been given the opportunity to bless someone and I wanted to bless her parents. So I shut the register door and went to my purse and took out two envelopes, one was mine with a $20.00 bill and the other was my husband’s, also $20.00. I opened both envelopes and paid for their dinners. She was so very thankful and kept repeating to me, I’m going to tell my mom! After I finished bagging her take-out, she walks around the counter, hugs me and says, GOD BLESS YOU! I have to say, that is the BEST feeling in the world!! I am so thankful to be a part of what Bay Community is doing for our community. My family and I have been members for six years now and have always been so thankful to be led by such a Godly Pastor.
