A (not so) normal Friday night

Tonight started off no different than any other Friday night really. My fiance came home from work, we went and walked around the mall for a while just to talk and spend some time together, and we discussed where we might want to go out to dinner tonight. We like to go out to dinner on Friday nights when it is financially possible; it’s kind of like our “date night.”

As we mulled over the usual places, Outback Steakhouse popped in my head. Now I NEVER think of Outback for some reason, probably because it is a bit off the beaten path and also a bit pricey, but he agreed.

Now here is where it sounds a bit crazy, but definitely true. When we were sitting at a traffic light I had a daydream about a older lady who was going to be our waitress at the restaurant and about the money we received on Sunday from the church. The Lord put it in my heart that this lady really needed the money for some reason. I thought to myself, “well that was a strange daydream.”

As we where being seated in the restaurant, all I saw employee-wise were young college aged employees. A few moment later, our waitress appeared: an elderly lady looking alot like the lady I just had a daydream about! The conviction felt even stronger!

When the check came later, my fiance paid the bill (with tip on the Credit Card) and I placed a note inside that basically stated:

“The Lord recent blessed us and placed it on our hearts to “pay it forward” so to speak. We hope that this money blesses you as well and that you can find it in your heart to do good.” We left it unsigned.

As we walked out, my heart was light as a feather. I feel like the Lord spoke to me and opened my heart to show me exactly who he wanted the money given too! I felt so happy and felt that the Lord was pleased.
