Summer camp
There is a little girl in Mobile who will now have the opportunity to go to the day camp for the summer provided by Solid Rock Ministries that is located on Springhill Avenue and in an area many of us would refer to the “hood”. A single mother who recently gave her life to God, who’s car broke down and she walks to work, who decided to make it by herself rathan than doing something she knows God would not want for her and had the live in boy friend move out. A (not so) normal Friday night
Tonight started off no different than any other Friday night really. My fiance came home from work, we went and walked around the mall for a while just to talk and spend some time together, and we discussed where we might want to go out to dinner tonight. We like to go out to dinner on Friday nights when it is financially possible; it’s kind of like our “date night.” Read more »
59th Anniversary Dinner
As a manager at a local restaurant in Spanish Fort, I knew in my heart it would be there at my place of work that the Lord would send someone to me to bless with the gift received by Pastor last Sunday.
It was storming outside and a Lady walked in to place a carry out order. It consisted of two seafood platters and two ice-teas, one sweet and one unsweet and requested they be marked as such. She told me the dinners were for her parents who were celebrating their 59th wedding anniversary, and her mother was waiting for her in the car to go meet her father. Read more »
Sowing love
I spent the day at the Grand Hotel pool with my children and was on my way back home when my kids started complaining they were starving and nothing but Krystals could satisfy their hunger. I would never have stopped at Kyrstals (do not like it) but did none the less. As I whipped through the drive through a young woman was getting my change ready and asked me if I had any jumper cables. I said “no, I don’t sorry.” Read more »
God provided – part 2
This is a follow-up to a story I posted a few days ago.
…. the rest of the story. God just keeps surprising me! My mom was visiting BCM this past Sunday and also received an envelope with money in it. On Tuesday she was asking what I did with the money and I told her that I gave it to one of the guys that worked with me. I in turn asked her the same question and she said that she did not know who to give it to, so insisting, she gave her money to me to give away instead. Read more »
This is God's money
I stopped to get gas a few minutes ago, and when I went into pay for it there sat a man on the bench that I know is homeless and is an alcoholic. His family talks very bad about him and has thrown him out on the streets. He looked pretty rough. While I was pumping gas, I thought about the money that the church handed out. I had it in my glove box. I walked up to him and said that I am a member at Bay Community Church and explained to him about the money. Read more »
Out of work
I received my stimulus gift of $40.00 at the Sunday morning service, I knew right away what I would do with it. An older couple who live nearby are having a hard time financially. The husband has been out of work for a little over a year & he has been everywhere trying to find a job. The wife works 30 hours a week & has two bad knees & has arthritis & it is hard as she has to stand on her feet all day.
They are not quite old enough to qualify for Social Security & Medicare & do not have insurance as they can not afford it. Read more »
A neighbor in need
I received my “stimulus” gift at the Saturday nite service. I knew immediately where it was supposed to go.
There is a lady in my neighborhood who has cancer. She has been traveling back and forth to M.D. Anderson. She is divorced with 2 children. The Lord had impressed upon me a few weeks ago to help her. Read more »
Helping a homeless family
What a powerfully moving message and gift Pastor Jerry.
I really appreciate the message and especially the idea of waiting
and praying on the subject. I so wanted to just run out and give
my envelope to the nearest and closest charity. But I waited and
prayed. The Lord is awesome.
Last night my ex-wife came to my house to pick up something my
son had left there. Read more »
