God provides

I was on my way to Daphne and  I really didn’t have the gas, but had to run an errand. Not even a minute down the road there was this girl walking with her little baby in the hot sun. I offered her a ride and she declined saying she was headed towards Daphne. I convinced her to get in and we made small talk the whole way. She kept thanking me the whole way and apologizing for her son being a mess. At the end she looked at me and asked why. I told her just because and gave her my number and told her to call anytime she needed anything. I got home later that day and found five dollars in my backseat…

I should’ve given more…

My hairstylist  is a single parent to a beautiful daughter.  She doesn’t charge near as much as most  hairstylists do. Back in March when I had the ” just because cards”. I left after having my hair done and had left her a small tip.  I drove down the road a bit and had this overwhelming feeling that I should’ve given her more.  So I went to a Walgreens and picked out a card.  I wrote a note and put $20.00 with the card from Bay Community in the envelope.  I just went back and walked in and told her that  I wanted to bless her in a small way.  $20.00 was a small amount and I never missed it.  Just lately I went back  to get my hair done. Her daughter was there.  Easter weekend was coming up and I told her it would mean so much to me to be able to give her $ 20.00 more for her to go and do something special with her daughter. I was in the same situation once with a daughter not much older than hers.  I remember how tight money was. This has been my pleasure.  I pray that I can always show the love of God when he wants me to bless someone.

The God who sees

I decided to go through the car wash at the Malbis Shell station a few days ago.  The young man who was the car wash attendant that day had no idea that the Lord was about to bless him, and neither did I.  When I was about midway through the car washing, the Holy Spirit spoke to me and told me to go back around after the car wash finished, and talk to the young man and give him the $50.00 bill that I had just gotten about 10 minutes earlier.  I had to smile because I knew this was going to be another special blessing time for me!  I drove back around, parked, and started walking toward his little booth.  He met me half way out with curiosity.  I said “I know you might think this is a little strange, but the Lord wanted me to come talk to you and give you this money.’ Read more »

Local restaurant

I am a waitress and I make my living based upon tips. I have decided to pay for every single lady’s lunch that comes in to our establishment. I told myself that I would pay for as many that I have ‘Just Because’ cards for. I haven’t run out of cards yet because a lot of the ladies leave them there. Also, on the days that I have paid for others lunches, I have made a tremendous amount more than I normally do. I have decided that this will be a way that I can bless someone on a daily basis. Not just until I run out of cards. It has also been wonderful to prove to my coworkers that being a blessing to someone else can also be a blessing to yourself. Just because…

Date night

My husband and I go on a date on a regular basis and we went to our “normal” spot for dinner. It was a pretty crowded night and obviously we were getting antsy. We finally got seated and about a couple tables down from us was a couple and their teenage daughter. I know them from work. I can say that these people haven’t had it so easy the last few months. I won’t tell their story, but all these people have had was a lot of judgment thrown their way. We all know that we have absolutely no right to judge anyone unless we have never sinned. Anyways, my husband and I decided that we wanted to “Just Because” them. We didn’t want them to know who did it, but we wanted them to feel that not everyone judges them and that they are loved. So a couple days later, the man came into my office and thanked me for the dinner. At first I tried acting like I had no idea what he was talking about, but then he told me that they had been heavily searching for the right church to attend and to actively serve in. He said that he believes that the “Just Because” card was a way for God to show them where they needed to be. Ever since then they’ve been at Bay and are planning on becoming members and making Bay Community their new home and family.

A whole new perspective

I was at the Chick-fil-a drive thru this morning and when I pulled to the window to pay, I was told that the lady in front of me had paid for me and I was handed a “Just Because” card.  Of course she had already driven away, so I could not thank her.  My morning was off to a chaotic and rough start, but her nice gesture put things in a whole new perspective for me.  She definitely made my day.  I have the card hanging on the bulletin board in my office to remind me of what is really important in life.

Kindness at Taco Bell

On Monday night, after one of the Mardi Gras parades, myself, my 5 year old (who attends Fusion Kids and LOVES IT) and two friends went to Taco Bell in Daphne. My friend and I are both single mom’s of 5 year old sons and had taken them to the carnival downtown before the parade which is very expensive as well as snacks from vendors. After a long day, headed home, stopped at Taco Bell and placed over an $11 order in the drive thru.  I saw a P.T. Cruiser with LOTS of stickers on the back (I drive one also).  Whomever it was in front of my car passed an employee beads through the window. As they drove off and I pulled to the window the employee told me the car in front of mine had paid for our meal! She handed me a card that said “Just Because.” We were all VERY touched and grateful! Almost unexplainable! So I want to thank whomever was so kind!

It’s an everyday thing

I had a thought regarding blessing others “just because”, and some of you may already be one step ahead of me – ha!  But this morning, as I was praying, it dawned on me to ask God to show me someone EVERY DAY that I could bless for His sake.  So today I ran errands, did the homeschooling, etc, and after running to Sam’s, I felt the nudge of the Lord to go get gas at a particular gas station. I knew it was because He had someone there he wanted to bless.  So I pulled into that gas station and I was the only one there!  But 2 seconds later 4 cars pulled up.  I waited for the Lord to show me which one, and then I went inside to buy her gas.  I got to talk to her by her car and give her a hug, which made it extra special for me!  I don’t know her need, but our loving Father does and He blessed her today – and I am blessed, too. Let’s all continue to ask the Lord everyday to show us who needs His love – just because!

Not left behind

My son came home with a field trip permission slip. It was quite pricey for them to take the trip to Montgomery. I filled out the check and form and sent him to school. All I could think about was how difficult that would have been for my mother who raised me and my two brothers all by herself. I sent a note to school the next day asking the teacher to call me. I asked her if there were any children in the class that could not afford to go on the trip and and she said there were was one little boy who couldn’t. I offered to pay his way and asked to remain anonymous and that his parents receive the Just Because card. No child should be left behind while the rest of the children experience the field trip fun. God has certainly blessed us and it feels amazing to share those blessings with other people.

Unexpected blessings

My son attends a local preschool and recently had “antique” photos done by a photography studio that came over from Mobile.  He dressed in “greaser” style clothing and posed on a motorcycle and a a toy hot rod.  I knew we would not be able to afford purchasing any pictures right now but I had them done anyway so I could show them online to our familes, who live 1,000 miles away.
